It was heartening to see that 118 countries signed the ‘Global Renewables and Energy Efficiency Pledge’ on Saturday (2 December) at COP28 in Dubai to treble global installed capacity by 2030. However, as the analysis piece in this PV Tech article states, commitment does not mean policy. The focus now needs to be on implementing policies to make this more binding.
